Josephine County Commissioners Herman Baertschiger Jr. and Dan DeYoung on Thursday questioned why the county spent $200,000 in economic development grant money on courthouse security. The revelation came out during a workshop agenda item regarding Jake Riley, owner of Riley's Guide Service, who has asked the county for $50,000 to help him buy a scarce and coveted Rogue River permit from the Bureau of Land Management.
