Drink leads to $3.65 million lawsuit against Asante

A Grants Pass man who battled throat cancer is suing Asante for $3.65 million, alleging that hospital employees gave him a caustic drink for his pneumonia that caused severe chemical burns.

The lawsuit, filed in Jackson County Circuit Court last week, says that Ray Mahannah was admitted to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass with pneumonia on Nov. 12, 2024.
