Suspect jailed after shooting near Williams
A Florida man remains in the Josephine County Jail without bail on an accusation that he shot another man to death on Sunday near Williams. Senji Sanuma Pintar, 32, faces charges of second-degree murder with a gun and unlawful use of a gun in the death of Garrett Bradshaw, according to Josephine County Circuit Court records. At 9:23 p.m. Sunday, Josephine County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about shots fired at 1670 East Fork Road near Williams. The sheriff’s office said deputies upon arrival spoke to a man identified as Senji Sanuma Pintar, then found an “unresponsive subject” at the scene who turned out to be dead. The sheriff’s office, which does not have a detective division, contacted Oregon State Police major crimes detectives and asked them to take over the case, the sheriff’s office said. Pinter was taken into custody and lodged in jail. The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office said no further details are being released at this time. The sheriff’s office has state-funded detectives to investigate illegal marijuana grows, but no detectives to investigate violent crime or property crime. Court records list Pintar as having an address in Orlando, Florida. The shooting was the sixth homicide this year in the county charged out as a murder or described by authorities as a murder. The other five, including a double-homicide, were: • Aug. 5, Asa Daniel Krueger 23, is charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon after police said he gunned down a man named Travis Economy, 36, after an argument or fight at 1215 S.W. Isham St. in Grants Pass. • July 4, a confrontation at a residence on Highland Avenue in northwest Grants Pass that left 18-year-old Kristian William Johnson dead. A 23-year-old man with a record of violence, Brennon Rae Machado, is accused of deliberately using a stolen car to run over and kill Johnson, described by prosecutors as the younger brother of a woman Machado had been seeing. • May 14, a shooting at Riverside Park that left a homeless man named Joshua Perez dead. Another homeless man, Charles J. Smith, was arrested at the scene and awaits trial on a charge of second-degree murder. • April 2, Thomas Roberts Fuerte, 36, is arrested and charged with murder in the March 26 death of a woman named Aleah Aaron at a remote residence on Lone Mountain Road in the O'Brien area. • Jan. 31, the bodies of Richard Lee Barron Jr., 73, and Donald Owen Griffith, 64, were found at or near their home in Sunny Valley. Authorities say they were beaten to death by Grants Pass torture suspect Benjamin Foster, who had been hiding out at a neighbor's home. Foster later killed himself in a standoff with police in Grants Pass. ——— Reach reporter Vickie Aldous at 541-474-3813 or valdous@thedailycourier.com. |
